The music player that just works
Free, lightweight, and built around how you actually listen. Stream anything from YouTube, build a library, share playlists with friends — all from one fast native window.
Built for actually listening
Everything Spotify charges for, plus the things they took away.
Anything you can find, you can play
Search any song, any artist, any obscure remix from 2009. Interwave resolves it on YouTube and streams the audio cleanly. No ads, no algorithm noise, no sponsored content. Just the music you searched for.
See what friends are playing — live
Add friends inside the app and their now-playing track appears in your sidebar in real time. Powered by Supabase Realtime presence — instant updates, no polling, no creepy "last seen" footprints.
Snapshot a playlist, send a link
Hit Share on any playlist and get a one-click interwave.cc/p/… link. Friends without the app see a preview page; friends with the app paste the token to import the whole snapshot into their library.
Five-band EQ. Synced lyrics. Crossfade.
Boost the bass, cut the air, save EQ presets. Karaoke lyrics from LRCLIB highlight the active line in real time. Crossfade between tracks for a seamless listen. The full audiophile toolkit — built in.
Yours, locally, forever
Your playlists, listening history, settings — all stored in a local SQLite database on your device. No subscription. No vendor lock-in. Uninstalling Interwave doesn't take your library with it.
What you play is your business
We don't track listening history server-side, we don't sell data, there are no ads, there's no algorithm tuning itself based on your taste. Our managed backend exists to sync friends and share links — that's it.
Listen together, even when you're apart
Add friends by display name. The moment they hit play, you see what's spinning in their now-playing — track title, artist, album cover, and a green online dot. No DMs needed. No "what are you listening to?" Spotify never had this — Interwave does.
How friends work →Quick answers
Is it really free?
Yes. No subscription, no ads, no upsell screen. Open-source on GitHub. The only "cost" is bringing your own internet to talk to YouTube.
Is this legal?
Interwave streams audio from YouTube through their public APIs. You're responsible for using it within YouTube's terms and your local copyright laws — same as any browser playing YouTube.
Does it work offline?
No. Interwave is online-only by design — every play resolves through YouTube. Your library and playlists are stored locally, but playback needs a connection.
What about Mac / Linux?
Windows builds are signed and shipped today. macOS and Linux build pipelines are scaffolded — they need per-platform signing infrastructure to ship publicly. Expect them soon.
What about my data?
Most of it lives locally on your device. The managed backend stores only what's needed for friends, sharing, and support — never your listening history. Read the full policy →
How do I get help?
The Support page inside the app sends a ticket directly to the team. Or open an issue on GitHub. Or email support@interwave.cc.
